Highbrow Boutique of Leland offers permanent cosmetic services in a comfortable, relaxing and private setting -having now relocated to just outside Wilmington, NC. Sarah Mays, an acclaimed makeup artist with over 80 motion picture and television credits, founded Highbrow in 2000.

about Highbrow’s Founder sarah mays
Sarah brings the passion, experience, skill, and techniques honed in her 30+ year career as a Hollywood makeup artist to Highbrow. She believes everybody deserves high quality customized cosmetic treatments in a private and relaxing environment.
Sarah began her studies in the field of makeup in Hollywood in 1985 attending the Joe Blasco Makeup Center, where she learned everything from beauty to special effects. She went on to explore a career bringing her over 80 credits heading the makeup department for “The Notebook,” “The Blindside,” “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Remember the Titans.” She has been a personal makeup artist to many stars including Dolly Parton, Emma Stone, Ben Stiller, Christina Applegate, Josh Lucas and Maria Bello.
